Carpet or carpet

Carpet and carpet. It would seem that these two words mean different coverings. But, in reality, this is one and the same, with the exception of a few differences. What are they? And what is better to choose a carpet or carpet? Let's figure it out together.

Carpet

A carpet is a dense woven material made from any kind of yarn. Often there are synthetic imitations. Carpets are used for decorative purposes and for insulation. It is hung on the walls or laid on the floors. Sometimes they cover sofas or armchairs. Carpets appeared a long time ago, they were made in the 5th century BC! They were used for various purposes: from warming nomadic yurts to decorating the walls of noble houses. They were also considered an object of art and a symbol of luxury, since manual labor was required to make the carpet. Today, carpets, according to the technique of execution, can be divided into three categories: pile, lint-free, felt. According to the production technology they are divided into:

  • tufted,
  • needle-punched,
  • felt
  • woven
  • wicker.

Tufted and needle-punched are the cheapest. These are the cheapest and fastest production. Woven and woven are much more expensive than others, as they are produced manually or by using machines imitate manual labor.

Carpet

Carpet - floor material that is used for flooring in the entire room. If the carpet has a certain size and a finished pattern, then the carpet has a small repeating pattern and unlimited length. The carpet has the following structure:

  • pile
  • then the primary foundation
  • after the fixing layer
  • and secondary base

Most often it is made from wool, nylon, polypropylene or polyester. Wool is the most durable and expensive. Nylon is cheap but quickly gets dirty. The strength of polypropylene carpet depends on the size of the stitches: the smaller they are, the stronger. Polyester is cheap and resistant to moisture and dirt, but wears out quickly. Carpet is used in commercial and residential premises: offices, hotels, hallways, walk-throughs, living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms. Depending on the type of room, the type of coating also changes. In offices, a more dense and stable material is required, since the traffic of people is large. For the bedroom, less dense material is suitable, since it is not used so intensively. You can read more about carpet here

Which is better, carpet or carpet

To argue on this topic is pretty stupid. Both the carpet and the carpet are essentially the same floor covering. Only the areas of their application differ. Carpets cover a specific area of the floor. Of course, they are laid on top of the main coating - linoleum, laminate or parquet. A carpet covers the entire room and is often the only covering. Thus, the carpet and the carpet have some differences, but are essentially the same. Depending on the objectives, this or that coating is selected. By the way, with other flooring you can find here.
